• If there’s a communication error, it will appear on either the 9900X display or the copier, indicating the need for troubleshooting (see page 31).

Step-by-Step Instructions to Enable

1. Open your pay station cabinet to access the X7 controller board (diagrams on pages 44-46 are helpful; for access, use the T-handle/locking device).

2. Find the four buttons on the board: Black (Menus), Green (Enter/Save), Red (Modify/Clear), Blue (Back/Previous).

3. If necessary, power on the unit. The display will showcase normal operation mode.

4. Press the Black button to navigate through the menus until reaching "3. Copier Parameters" on the 4x20 LCD screen.

5. Press Green to enter the Copier Parameters menu.

6. The first choice will be "Copier type." Use the Red button to toggle through until you find "Konica-Minolta Biz-Hub Vender 2". Other options include Vender 1, Vender 2, and models like Kyocera-Mita Task-Alfa.

7. Press Green to save this selection. The display will indicate the new setting momentarily before proceeding.

Cash and card payments can have separate prices, with card transactions allowing precise pricing (like $0.12). Ensure no-color prices are mistakenly set to $0.00 if your copier handles only B&W (page 27).

• Prices reflect your local currency, as set in "Currency setting" in Value Parameters (page 34).

• If using a card reader, note that prices can differ between payment methods (e.g., discounts or surcharges).

• A minimum deposit might be required if copiers issue signals during printing (page 34)—set either to the highest price or a fixed quantity/number of copies.

• You can set a minimum charge for card transactions (page 35)—commonly $1.00 to offset processing fees.

1. Access the X7 board following initial steps.

2. Repeat pressing the Black button until reaching "4. Value Parameters."

3. Hit Green to open the menu.

4. Use Black to reach "Copy prices cash" (or "Copy prices card" for card settings).

5. Press Green to enter the pricing settings. The first price will appear (e.g., "Simplex B&W Format A").

6. To adjust a price:

   • Press Green to choose or edit the current price, then progress to the next digit (look for the flashing cursor).

   • Use Red to increment the value of the flashing digit (↑).

   • Use Blue to decrement this digit/value (↓).

   • Press Green to save the new value and shift to the subsequent digit/price.

   • Use Black to advance through the list (e.g., from simplex B&W A to duplex color B).

7. Adjust each price as necessary (up to 12 in this setup). For instance:

   • Simplex B&W Format A: $0.10

   • Duplex Color Format C: $0.50 (or $0.15 as a differential if starting at $0.10 with a $0.05 duplex addition—page 28).

   • Fax: Connection fee + per-page charge (not accounting for long-distance fees).

   • Scan: Single vend price.

8. Press Green to save each price; the display will briefly reflect the change.
